Guest charliebarnwell Posted December 28, 2005 Report Posted December 28, 2005 just braught a C500 from ebay and found out it is blacklisted! Luckly i only want it for Tomtom. Does anyone know how i can get it taken off the blacklist? Tried Orange and they say it has to be done by the original owner, unfortunately i am unable to contact them, they no longer answer emails etc. Seems to be such a nice phone, it would be nice to be able to use it for the occasional phone call. Hope all the members had a good xmas. Thanks for any help.
Guest shadamehr Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 If it's blacklisted it's likely stolen mate. Not possible legally, even dangerous to do illegally at the rare few unscrupulous places that may be able to do it, but even then its usually only possible on the more common phones like nokia. Speaking as someone who's girlfriend was violently assaulted by twom men when her phone was stolen (enough said there), I deplore the market for stolen phones. Take it up with the seller, if that fails, you've been eBay diddled - leave him bad feedback.

If paypal, initiate a dispute imediatley to stop them removing the funds to their account. Failing that, try reporting it to the police as the seller is handling stolen goods. You may have to hand over the phone though. How much did you pay? Auction number? Richard
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 If you only want TomTom then surely it would have been cheaper to buy a seperate TomTom One? Unless you bought the phone for under £50 TomTom One would have been a far better investment than buying TomTom Mobile and a seperate Smartphone. Unless you have decided to use a pirate version of TomTom.
