Bug: Polyphonic MID files may crash handset

[Edited by Site Admin, thanks for the submission debug!]

SYMPTOM:

Very poor support for MID files in SP2002.

Just tried setting a MIDI file as the ring tone and first off it beeped, then started to play (while it was beeping) and hung the SPV. This appears to be due to the fact it is a polyphonic MID file, and the SPV does not support Polyphonic MIDI files.

RESOLUTION:

Use non-polyphonic MIDI files.

debug, I don't know much about .mid, any idea where I can get one of these polyphonic files?

Search the web for midi files, and you will get millions of results.

The SPV doesnt support midi 1 or 2, so if you want to use a midi for the phone you will have to convert it to midi 0.

Get a midi convertor from http://www.gnmidi.com/gnmidfmt.zip

I wouldn't bother trying to play midi files though, as the SPV is crap and i really do mean crap at playing them, infact i will be supprised if you can even recognise the song!
