i just purchased a orange c550 and i cant get any videos to play, is there a specific bitrate or size that they have to be? i tried to install pocket tv and when i click it to install it says that it dosent support the connected device :s :cry:

try encoding the video using Pocket DivX encoder and playing them on TCPMP

The best video player for your phone is tcpmp as it allows full screen video playeback and is compatible with alot, and pocketdivxconverter is the best converter but make sure you select pda (240x320)

tcpmp.arm_sp.cab

it sounds like you have put the installer on your phone,

connect you phone to your pc, open the installer you phone will ask you to install the program and tcpmp will install on you phone, or do the the same with pockettv.

i have installed tcpmp ok, and have encoded a video with pocket divxencoder and works great ;) but is there anyway to do the same to .wmv and .mp4 files?

i managed to fix that problem, it was my codecs interfering with it. how can i do the same to wmv videos?

to make wmvs defaultly play in tcmp,

using the standard file explorer

locate the file and click menu, file, associate and select tcpmp from the list

Download Windows Media Encoder from Microsoft. Choose to encode at high quality Pocket PC (218kbps - 240 x 320) and you'll get great looking movies just using Windows Media Player.

Wicked!! I can't believe I've spent SO much time in queues playing crappy games when my phone was capable of this!! I always thought "tv on your phone, what a rip off", but this is awesome! No wonder these things are so expensive.

Is there anything else I should be doing with my phone? (I've never been interested in internet etc because it's way too expensive but if there's anything else cool and _free_ like this, then I'd like to know)

My problem, is that I wanna watch stuff whilst I'm cooking. Since I've gotta keep moving about, I need something that will maintain the phone in my feild of vision at all times. Some sort of stupid looking head gear would do the trick. Any ideas how I could construct such a thing?

wnt u just get distracted and burn somthing?? why not bye a car cradle for the c550 and mount it to the wall or sumin and u can have it in ure line of sight.

Other things i find great on my spv is notepad which is gr8 also the big bonus although you dont want the internet is bluetooth activesync, this lets you use the internet on ure phone through ure pcs internet, making it free and fast. Concider it its awsome!!

I burn things anyway... I might aswell enjoy myself whilst I'm doing it! I tried proping it up on a tub of milkshake mix but I have to keep moving around. Ideally, I'd have a pair of those $2000 glasses with built in weird sci-fi tv screen stuff, but I'm just gonna have to construct some sort of head-brace with my non-existant engineering skills.

Surely typing on a nine button keypad is a drag (not a fan of texting)! And why surf on your phone if your computer is right by? Surely it's easier with full size input devices?
