It seems EVERYTHING I buy nowadays has a fault and needs to be replaced repaired.

My list in the past 18 months:

Acer Laptop - Stuck pixel in the centre of the screen on arrival, DVD drive failed after 1 year

Canon Digital Camera - Flash timing was out so pictures were all very dark

Orange C550 - was draining battery way too fast

Creative speakers - volume control didn't work properly, kept adjusting volume by itself

Creative MP3 Player - faulty battery

All the above were fixed by being replaced or repaired, so all genuine confirmed faults, surely it'd be more cost effective to use better quality components or pay for strictly quality controls and pay for fewer repairs?

*touches wood* I've always been very lucky when buying electrical stuff. Recently bought 2 laptops and no probs. Had over 60 phones and had issues with 2 of them (not a bad ratio). Maybe i'm just lucky! *touches wood again*

I've been fairly lucky, especially with phones. The only phone I ever had a problem with was the Ericsson T68. I got through about 5 of these with each having some kind of software or hardware fault. Then they upgraded me to a Sony Ericsson T68i. After a further 7 of them (same kind of faults) they gave me a Nokia 7210. Fortunately by now I only had to put up with the Nokia for 2 months until my contract was up and I discovered the newly released Orange SPV phone! It was awesome! ;)

The only other electrical fault I've had was blowing up one speaker on my laptop within a week. My fault for seeing how loud I could make it go, I guess...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

When I sent the volume control for my speakers back the first time, they told me they'd sent a replacement, but just sent the same one (still faulty) straight back to me...
