Guest Yukon_Guy Posted December 30, 2005 Report Posted December 30, 2005 (edited) I recently purchased a Motorola MPx200 Off Ebay Unlocked, and it works with my current service provider T-mobile. I have also obtained the OS2003 flashing Utilities with a little help from google. The question is, can I flash to OS2003 and the phone remain unlocked?? seeing as I'd have to quote "Hard Reset" the phone. I've found a supposed unlocking .img file; But question it's validity, I'm waiting for my USB cord to come in the mail, so I can actually start using this phone to it's potential. LoL. anyway, if anyone has any advice, please post. Thanks! 8) Edited December 31, 2005 by awarner [MVP]
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 The only free method of SIM unlocking an MPX200 if also ilegal as it alters the IMEI. As for flashing the phone, if it was SIM unlocked before it will remain unlocked after flashing. Most people go back to 2002 as the 2003 update was never officially released and will stop things like MMS from working.
Guest fluffcat1 Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 The only free method of SIM unlocking an MPX200 if also ilegal as it alters the IMEI. There is another one floating about on the t'interweb that doesn't change the imei to 00000000000. A google search usually pulls it up ok. Richard
