Qtek 9100 causes system restart

When I connect my qtek to the usb port, computer (winxp pro, sp2) does not recognise the device correctly - in device manager under network adapters shows up Windows Mobile-based Device #4 with yellow exclamation mark.

Device properties will show in status window following text: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device (Code 31).

Then I uninstall the device from device manager, unplug it from the USB, replug it. Then the device is recognised (balloon messages: new hardware, generic rndis device etc...) and no exclamation mark in device manager. But that's it - system restart follows.

I have tried everything:

1. to shut down zonealarm

2. disable norton antivirus

3. use both ActiveSync 4.0 and 4.1, with couple of times reinstalling both of them

4. registry healer

And after all of this I have not solved the issue.

The device connects and syncs ok on another computer (win 2000 pro).

Is there anybody out there who could help me? Thanks in advance.

PS

I think I might have made some mistakes on the first time - i had all zonealarms and everything else running, and possibly canceled some installation procedure when winxp started looking for drivers...

now I know that this is zonalarm pro that is causing this mess. if I do not start zonealarm on startup it causes no troble. I am able to connect my qtek with no problems, but after I start zonealarm and try to sync, then the computer restarts. I think I have made all settings in zonealarm according to microsofts guidelines, but still I have got the damn problem...
