Guest Matty.PW Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 After using Clear Storage to set my SPV C500 back to factory to give to my girlfriend.... it now wont play WAV files :??: If you try to open WAV files with Media Player it says "alert; An object or name was not found". Trying to use the .WAV file as an SMS alert just results in the phone playing the "ding" file instead (the same as it does when WAV files are set to open with any other program apart from WMP) Any help on this? Thanks

Thanks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It should play .wav files, as thats what the phone uses for ringtones. On mine if you open the file from file manager directly (as opposed to using media player) it will play it. As for setting it as an SMS alert, im not sure. I know how to set it as a ringtone, but i dont think the process works the same. There is probably a folder you have to put all of the alert tones in, but since ive had this thing for a week, i have yet to find it.
Guest Tech Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 even thought by default it should play wav's - tried upgrading the ROM?
Guest Silent.knight Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 Same problem for me ;) can't set it as ringtone - just get 'ding' noise... I have latest rom update too
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 The 'ding' sound is usually caused by the wav file not being PCM-format. Use Windows Sound Recorder to Save As - it's in Accessories, Entertainment on your PC.
Guest Silent.knight Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 ;) I worked it out... Convert it to WMA then it works :D
