Guest sertomo Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 As it is possible to run Quake on smartphones... do you think it wouldbe possible to run GTA2? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You can try the GBColor version of GTA2 with Smartgear. It runs a little bit slow on my mpx200, though.
Guest qoma Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Have you tried the search feature of the forum?...I did... SPV Quake Here... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Have you tried to read his post? He didn't ask for Quake. :-k
Guest Silent.knight Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Thanks for the help people... Is there any chance of the PC version of GTA2 or is that just a pipe dream due to it's size and the fact that the buildings are 3D?

Guest nausea Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 Thanks for the help people... Is there any chance of the PC version of GTA2 or is that just a pipe dream due to it's size and the fact that the buildings are 3D? The GTA games are one of my fav series! I dont think we'll see a port of it since the source code isnt available and even if the source was released Smartphones dont have the power to run it.

Guest whiteflippinjew Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 I remember when I had an old palm os device there was a demo for gta 1 but only a demo. The project was dropped before completion though. :) It was a really good conversion though.
Guest Silent.knight Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 well the first GTA is free now so it should be legal for somebody to port it if they should wish
Guest whiteflippinjew Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 (edited) The problem isnt the game being free. The thing you need to do to port a game is get the game code. The reason you see so many ID software games like wolfenstein, quake, doom, and more being ported to ppc, smartphone, and palm is because they released the code for the game after some years. Ha, if it could be as simple as a game to be free, Id personally learn how to port dirk smallwood. :) Edited June 26, 2006 by whiteflippinjew
Guest wabawaba Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 (edited) now wouldnt that be something. dink smallwood on a smartphone.dannnnng Edited June 26, 2006 by wabawaba
Guest whiteflippinjew Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Okay, this may seem to start like getting off topic, but I just visited the dink smallwood site and the company actually released the source code to dink just in March!!! Haha, someone port it because Im too stupid to learn any compy language. :) If you want to check it out: http://www.codedojo.com/ There must be an easy way to port games. I believe!
Guest Laser_iCE Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 btw, GTA2 is available free too, just letting you know ... :) I think a game such as Monkey Island would be fantastic!

Maybe if everyone PMs roozbeh he'll port it :) It should be fairly 'easy' but it would require a lot of time, theres TONS of code to go through.
