Guest mabarumaboy Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 I have successfully set up my Qtek 8310 wifi connection at home. However, I noticed one wrinkle where I had to change my WPA-PSK wireless AP encryption scheme to TKIP (I had previously set it to AES, as AES is a stronger encryption scheme). AES is apparently not supported on the 8310. I am curious: does anyone know whether the i-Mate SP5 supports AES encryption?

My Qtek 8310 is the same ...only TKIP supported. Not really a problem for me as I had to set my Wireless router to use WEP as I have some older 802.11b WiFi adapters on my network. The firmware on these older devices cannot be upgraded any further so I am stuck with 128 bit WEP until decide to replace the older kit. To be honest as it's a private network at home I am not to bothered about it using WEP ...if I have any sad neighbours who have nothing better to do than sniff packets on my WiFi network to get the WEP key then good luck to them ;)

It's not supported in sp5.
