Guest adam.sturdy Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 Hi All, I just downloaded the lastest version of active sync 4 onto my work PC and it won't connect with my M5000? Any ideas? ->Adam
Guest Confucious Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 AS 4 or 4.1? How are you trying to connect? Cable or wiereless?
Guest adam.sturdy Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 AS 4.1 with a cable. just tried bluetooth and that didn't work, can get my phone to recognise my PC and vice versa. It recomends I use com port 41? my pda only has upto 10 I think. AS 4 or 4.1? How are you trying to connect? Cable or wiereless? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Guest Confucious Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Cable should work. Is the device recognised when you plug it in? have tou tried a different USB port? Do your USB ports work or have they been disabled? You can change the port for BT but I would get it working with cable first as getting it to work with BT can be "interesting" at the best of times.
Guest Sonicr360 Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 You may want to take a look at this link: If you have any Firewall software, you may need to configure it to allow the Active syne .exe files to pass through. 4.x Active Sync is a slightly different breed to the earlier versions Simon Link http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/hel...nc/default.mspx

Guest scott_b Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 I had problems connecting my M5000 yesterday using AS4.1 It was saying that the network connection was not working properly or something along those lines. Anyway i just reset the hpone and it has been working fine since!
Guest adam.sturdy Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Hi All, I spoke with Orange, and they said that MS had desupported version 4.0 and only 4.1 is 'supported' and that Orange has reported a number of faults to microsoft, and are pushing them for a new release as soon as possible. The guy said that doing a detect and repair in outlook can sometime solve issues too. I have got mine to work on my home PC, and on my work PC at home, so I suspect firewall is the problem, so I'll have a go at that link above. Apart from that my M5000 rocks, could have some buttons on the front like the m2000 instead of only having the screen. My TomTom navigator arrives today I hope!! ->Adam M5000 hints and tips always wanted!!
Guest adam.sturdy Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Just worked out it must be my firewall or something at work, as when I unplug my LAN cable the syncing is fine. Any hints on how to add the active sync processes to my firewall (it is MS)
Guest Confucious Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Have you tried looking here? http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/hel...nc/default.mspx
