Guest Pondrew Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 There are occasional rom updates for Windows Mobile devices like the SPV M5000 and these updates will usually include newer builds of Windows Mobile but it's unlikely there'll be any major updates coming soon (ie no WM2006 as such).
Guest Confucious Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 The updates to WM5 to support Push email are, I believe, with the operators but when, or if, they will release new ROMS with the upgrades I don't know. AFAIK the new O2 Upgrade still doesn't incorporate them unless anyone knows better?
Guest Pondrew Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Was talking to an XDA Exec user yesterday who had installed the latest rom and it didn't update WM5 at all (the version and build number didn't change). In fact, he felt the only changes were setup changes and a newer version of O2 Active with some of the bugs address. Or partially addressed anyway, apparently the task manager now shows a blank space where it used to list the Phone app (the closing of which will prevent it working again until reset) BUT u can still select that blank space and close the task!
Guest Confucious Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Thanks Pondrew, I won't bother trying it then as I already use the corporate install. I am waiting to hear what O2 are doing with the updates toWM5 and when/if I here anything I'll post here.
