Guest amsutcliffe Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 Hi, Apologies if this is the wrong place or answered elsewhere - I've searched the forum and can’t seem to find anything that helps. My Orange SPV M500 recently had it's first hard reset. I'm not quite sure why, but all my contacts, appointments. etc are Synced with outlook, so while frustrating and time consuming to reinstall programs and reconfigure the device, I didn't think I'd lost anything (bar my text messages.) However, I noticed that after charging the device, the maximum time left was only 3.56 or so, whereas before the hard reset it seemed to show over 7 hours when fully charged. I've noticed a corresponding decrease in battery life. I have found some info that seems to indicate that when the device hard resets, whatever level battery is at that moment is regarded henceforth as full. Unfortunately, I've not seen anything which would help me rectify the problem. Is there anything I can do to regain the "lost" battery capacity? I assume if I could somehow charge the battery fully and then hard reset again it might help, but given that the battery seems to stop charging when the phone thinks it's full (light goes from solid orange to solid green), I'm not sure how to fully charge the battery. Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks, Alistair
Guest Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 I'm new to the M500 myself but I seem to remember a post in the MPX200/MPX220 section that referred to the same problem of reduced battery life after a hard reset. From what I remember the solution was exactly what you said - fully charge the battery then hard reset again. Can't hurt to try it and see if it works!
