Guest bongo_king Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 (edited) I'm trying to synch up Media Player 10 with my smartphone, but it just can't see the smartphone. On the Synch screen of media player is just says "No device has been detected. Press F5 to refresh the player". Over and over again Activesynch is on & connected- the media settings seems to suggest all you need to do is start up Media player & it should be able to see the storage card of the phone. There's about 400mb of space on the card. I turned off my firewall just in case. What am I doing wrong ](*,) Edited January 4, 2006 by bongo_king
Guest _Nemo_ Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 I personally found that Window Media Player 10 couldn't find the phone if sync'd via bluetooth. For me, using the USB cable resolved this.

Downloaded 4.1 as you did and heh presto, works perfectly! Would help if Orange or Windows made the issue more obvious. Cheers bazthebike

Cheers bazthebike <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Got ActiveSync 4.1 (my Orange CD never worked in the first place) running on my C600, USB connection, 256 MB card with plenty of room--but Media 10 doesn't see my phone! Any other ideas?

I read somewere that this was a bug, a conflict between AS and WMP. The result is that if the WMP setup program has been run AFTER that the AS setup program has been run, the WMP will not see your device connected to Active Sync. To solve this problem, simply re-install or preferably use the repair event in the AS setup program. This worked for me and I hope it will for you to. ;)
Guest JamRam Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 =D> That did it! Just to be clear for anyone else with the problem: 1. Double-click on your ActiveSync "Setup" file (whether it is on the CD or you downloaded it--at the time of writing this e-mail, 4.1 can only be acquired via download). 2. Select "Repair". 3. Wait as your computer reinstalls ActiveSync 4.1. 4. Plug your phone into your computer. 5. Open Windows Media Player and select "Sync". You should actually see both the phone's internal memory card and your external "Storage Card".
Guest luvbigg04 Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 (edited) There is also a file called MP10 update in the prog files for active sync. Running this exe also works. Handy if you've deleted the original setup. Why on earth this isn't activated if MP10 is installed is....... well....... thats M$ isn't! Edited March 21, 2006 by luvbigg04
