Guest ripnet Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Hi, I had a C500 (loved it), now a C550 (love it, but keys too small). Im considering upgrading to C600 to get the Qvga screen, with buttons large enough to use. I heard that the C600 was the first smartphone to use USB2 - is it true that file transfers (via activesync) are significantly faster than on the old WM2003 devices? atm I use a USB card reader to put my TV shows onto the phone for watching, as it takes HOURS to transfer a couple of hundred megs. Can any C600 owners tell me how fast large (60-200mb) files can be uploaded to the phone, without removing the battery / SD card? also, does TMPCMC (formally BetaPlayer) work well on the C600? Finally, any word on PAYG availability in the UK? thanks g
Guest henningl Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 I don't have my usb cable here to test, but in my opinion the 8310 (same phone I guess?) is very fast in comparison to other phones with usb cable-connections. One mp3 takes about 20-30 seconds to transfer if I remember correct
Guest Ingvarr Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Its almost the same (with same activesync 4.1 and on same comp). About 100kb/sec both for Tornado and for Typhoon.
Guest cold_fire Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 C600 is usb 1.1 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Indeed but it looks a little faster to me .
Guest kirilltch Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 C600 is usb 1.1 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i am not sure about it beeing usb1.1 or 2.0 but i just baught one (c600) a week ago and it takes me about 5 seconds to transfer 1 mp3 song (+-5mb)(maybe even faster... i have a normal 512 mb (not high speed)

Finally, any word on PAYG availability in the UK? thanks g <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the question about TMPCMC... when i first got the phone i tried converting videos in 3gp format but they turned out crappy and bad sound too, the size was good though (about 5mb for 5 min) than i heard about TMPCMC so i tried that, and i was amased. For normal settings in Mpeg4 format the video was great on the phone and audio as well (much better than 3gp) the size though was a bit bigger about 10 mb for 5 min. So TMPCMC works great on C600!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
