Battery Life with frequent USB connections

Hi there,

I'm fairly new to this forum and to the SP world, so please bear with me for a possible noob question.

I have an Audiovox SMT 5600 and love the syncronization ability it has. So much so that the only times the phone is NOT connected to a pc is usually on my trips back and forth from work. I am allways by a computer (because of my job) - hence my need for a smartphone for those momments when I'm not.

So my question is this, does the battery life get severely affected if I plug the phone into the USB cable frequently and don't let the battery get nearly drained before I do so?

My phone gets charged via a USB cable or a AC adapter, but because I am almost allways around a computer - its allways being plugged in and out of the USB cable and I don't know how that affects the battery life since the battery level rarely ever gets below 60%.

Any thoughts?

It's best to keep the battery topped up.

As long as you are not unplugging it thenn plugging it in all the time you will be ok ;)

apparently there is a wire inside your usb cable that is the power supply, so technichly cutting this wire will only allow usb transfer, or just use bt

i do not know tough wich is that wire ?

i was hoping for a software solution...cutting the wire seems a bit harsh

You need to modify the sync cable. The images on the link below will show you. It is in Tagalog (Philippine dialect) right now. I will be posting English texts soon...
