Guest Stormx Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Hey. I run a site, http://www.dython.net, however, quite obscurely, my smartphone (an Orange e200 - Smartphone 2002) hasn't been able to resolve the address. I was wondering if anyone could replicate this? The odd thing is, it DOES resolve a subdomain, http://dev.dython.net. I don't understand why? I'm using the orange tarriff, is it something to do with this? It was working fine before. I don't think its sending any strange headers, and certainly it isn't php or apache causing the problem. Could someone else try this on their CE-Based phone? Just to see if it is just happening for my device....
Guest fluffcat1 Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Works OK from my MPX220 on orange UK but the timezone is wrong as it says sat the 7th - where's the server based? Richard
Guest Stormx Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Hey. Well its been a day and it seems to have fixed itself! Must just have been my GPRS provider! The server is based in the states. The way the date works is it writes it in PHP then uses javascript to update it to local time. Of course, javascript may or may not work correctly on handhelds. I should make it remember the timezone offset in a cookie, shouldn't I! Thanks for the response!
