Guest Cantello Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 I have the same problem with my Qtek 8310, without the bluescreen, my computer just restarts. Have re-installed AS4.1 several times, checked if there are any programs messing with the TCP/IP stack (there aren't) or other things one should check according to the forum here. Anything else I could try, apart from buying a new computer or a different phone?

It resets my PC but the other PC I have it doesn't. I have no idea what is the problem  Maybe installing Windows again would solve the problem but I'm just to lazy to that since it works on another PC I use as well. Beside that, I can't make my Qtek to work with my Dell X50v via bluetooth in full. Some functions work. Per example Qtek 8310 sends files to Dell X50v via bluetooth but it doesn't want to give a GPRS connection for some reason to Dell. I tried evertyhing but................ I also have a V3 Motorola which gives connection and works with Dell X50v just fine ! Apart from this my Qtek works fine as a standalone device. Guest robbidoo Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 (edited) I get exactly the same thing, but with my c600. What motherboards do you guys have? I'm just wondering if it's an incompatibility with the new USB driver (that comes with Activesync 4.1) and certain boards. Mine is an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, which uses the nVidia nForce 4 SLI chipset. For those of you who say that you're not getting a blue screen, just a restart, is it possible that you just have your machine set to automatically restart? Right click My Computer, Properties, Advanced, Startup and Recovery, Settings, then untick the 'Automatically Restart' box. All I get is the infamous IRQL_LESS_TO_OR_NOT_EQUAL bsod, which means a hardware / driver problem. My machine is rock solid (yeah I know everyone says that, but it is!), and the blue screen only happens once activesync tries to sync, rather than as soon as the phone is plugged in and windows detects it. If I then restart and try again, the phone won't connect at all, unless I use a different USB port. Guess what happens then? Yeah, another blue screen. EDIT: Forgot to mention, it works fine on my work machine - A Dell Intel P4 with Intel chipset. Edited January 12, 2006 by robbidoo

( I had to hold a digital camera to take a snapshot of the bluescreen in order to read what it says) because it restarts so fast ). My machine is also rock solid (P4 3.4GHz Ht,Corsair 675 MHz 1Gb Ram, 3 x 74 Gb Raptor 10.000 Rpm, Motherboard Asus P5Ad2 Premium etc... ) SOMEONE PLEASE HELP OR ADVISE.
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Since installing AS4 I keep losing my AOL broadband connection. The browser keeps restarting itself as it should. I don't suppose the 2 things are connected and relate to the problem you guys are having ? :?:
Guest amnesia Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 What operating systems are you guys using ? XP SP1 ? SP2 ? Have you got the latest mainboard drivers installed etc ?
Guest robbidoo Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 What operating systems are you guys using ? XP SP1 ? SP2 ? Have you got the latest mainboard drivers installed etc ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, xpsp2. All latest everything.

Probably more to do with AOL using a weird virtual adapter and there being some conflict with the virtual adapter that AS4 installs. I would imagine that it's a different problem, unless you have a USB modem and that disappears when you plug your phone in...
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 XP Home + SP1 & 2. No USB modem. Thanks for the clue though ;)
Guest waygadoo Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 Yes, xpsp2. All latest everything. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> SAME HERE. XPSP2 ALL LATEST DRIVERS INSTALLED.
Guest Cantello Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 What operating systems are you guys using ? XP SP1 ? SP2 ? Have you got the latest mainboard drivers installed etc ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me, I'm using XP with SP2 and (as far as I know) all the latest drivers. I am currently experimenting with debugging crash dumps to see if I can locate the malfunctioning driver... So far no luck, though.
Guest manji1165 Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 I had the same problem all day yesterday and came across the microsoft site and how to fix it... here for me, i fixed it by doing the vpn network one, and that only... so give that a shot.. and good luck. I also have an asus mobo with xpsp2.. and as 4.1 with cingular 2125. its not a usb driver problem as it works fine when i use my old phone, smt5600 to connect but only when i use my new 2125 it gives me the BSOD, so good luck! Guest robbidoo Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 I *do* have a vpn client installed now you mention it - I'd completely forgotten about it. (doh) I'll have a play around this evening and post my results. Thanks.

Guest robbidoo Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 Sorry, I didn't get time in the end and I'm away until Monday. I really will post results when I get a chance to test ;) I think the idea is that if you have a VPN client installed, some of them will provide a virtual protocol which by default will be bound to all adapters - including the one for activesync. This could obviously cause a conflict. However, I'm sceptical as to whether this could cause a blue screen - I'm still of the mind that it's a driver conflict/error, but we shall see...
Guest robbidoo Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 Fixed the focker! It turns out that all along it was the anti-hacking plugin that comes with Kapersky AV that was causing the crash. I disabled it in the options and now all is well. I was googling and found this page: http://www.aximusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5890 which put me onto it. Anyway, it's syncing fine now ;) Hope this helps someone!
Guest waygadoo Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 THIS DOESN'T HELP IN MY CASE. I GUESS I'LL INSTALL WINDOWS AND ALL FROM SCRATCH AND THEN TRY AGAIN. s*** !!!

Guest Narren Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 The same problem. I have i-mate sp5 and asus620. Connecting first device causes bsod, second not %\ But, this happens only on usb connection (i tried bluetooth, it works fine) bsod tells that something is wrong with tcpip.dll :\
