Guest Lama16 Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 hi all.... i've been calling orange about the M5000. my contract has run out and i called them to upgrade and change my contract. i've been told that the M5000 is busniess only. so i said ok i'll call them later.... the next day i called them and asked when the M5000 will be released for normal customers.... they said it was already for normal customer. but its out of stock. so i have to wait 1 month before it comes into stock.... so i emailed orange on thier website and asked if it was busniess customers only that can get the M5000 and guess what they said .... yes its only for busniess customer only.... so what i want to confirm who here is an orange customer and not a busniess customer and has the M5000.
Guest Chimpanzee Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 I think what they mean is that they are giving priority to Orange Premium customers- those on contracts of £50 per month or more. Have you been to and orange shop to play with the M5000? make sure you do before you order one. I was going to upgrade my M2000 to the 5000 but i've changed my mind after holding and using it. I found it too big and the build quality didn't seem to be all that great. You may well like it, but i'd definately recommend checking first ;)
Guest scott_b Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Hi. I work for Orange Business in N.I and can confirm that the M5000 is only supposed to be for business connections. Personally, we have to sell to order and dont hold stock of them in store. I got mine yesterday and would def recommend trying it out first cause it is one big peice of kit! You def need a second smaller handset for when you are out at the bar etc.
Guest Confucious Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 You def need a second smaller handset for when you are out at the bar etc. In your oppinion. I have given up on all my other phones and just use my Universal all the time, it may be big but iyt does evrything I need from a phone.
Guest Soulfish Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 hi all.... i've been calling orange about the M5000. my contract has run out and i called them to upgrade and change my contract. i've been told that the M5000 is busniess only. so i said ok i'll call them later.... the next day i called them and asked when the M5000 will be released for normal customers.... they said it was already for normal customer. but its out of stock. so i have to wait 1 month before it comes into stock.... so i emailed orange on thier website and asked if it was busniess customers only that can get the M5000 and guess what they said .... yes its only for busniess customer only.... so what i want to confirm who here is an orange customer and not a busniess customer and has the M5000. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I phoned up Orange yesterday (Thursday 12th Jan) about upgrading from my current phone (a Nokia 6630) to either a M500 or M5000. When I talked to upgrades I was told that the M500 was business customers only and the M5000 I could have for £199.99 but it was out of stock. I asked for my PAC code and was transfered to retentions. The nice lady on the other end then offered me the M500 for free, or the M5000 for £44.99 together with a lower priced contract + 6 months half price line rental + more minutes/texts then I'm getting at the moment, or for free if I transfered to the new version of my current plan (I was an Orange Premier customer). Decided to go for the M5000 on the lower priced plan (£30/mo for 500mins + 100 texts, £15/mo for the first 6) and it arrived this morning :D Quite a change from being out of stock ;). I will say however that I was/am a high spend customer. My bill is £60+/mo + another £55/mo on a seperate contract under my account so they obviously wanted to keep me on, hence the sweet offer.
