Hi All,

I have searched for my problem, and entered all the details that I have found etc but so far no joy!!

I purchased an Orange SPV M500 with no Sim (brand new boxed from Ebay) I managed to get it unlocked via a download from the XDA Developers site which was great!! i then put in my O2 Sim which is whom I have a contract with. I am unable to access GPRS, Send MMS or Email, obviously cause the settings are incorrect.

I am unable to get the settings sent to me from O2 as ''it's not an O2 sold phone so we don't support it'' so I managed to locate some settings on the O2 site, I tried them to no avail, I then tried some settings I found in a thread on here, also to no avail so now im stuck!!

Below is what settings I have (if this helps)

try to connect to internet but unable to as get an error stating that the ''answering modem has disconnected'' then goes on telling me to check my settings

I tap on Settings

manage Existing Connections

select the one I have renamed O2 connection and select edit

The Connection name is : New O2 connection

Under select a modem it says ''Cellular Line (GPRS)''

Then tap next

Access point name is: mobile.o2.co.uk (I have also tried wap.o2.co.uk)

Username : mobileweb

Password : password

then I tap advanced and the O2 supplied IP is under Use specific IP address as 193.113.200.195 (thats under the TCP/IP) tab and then under the servers tab is is selected on Use server-assigned addresses

I then select OK and then tap finish

Please help, one of the main reasons I got the PPC was to use the net (as I don't have it at home just yet) so really annoying I can't get online with it LOL

Thanks in advance loads for any help I appeciate it and if anyone wants any info on TV shows I will be happy to supply as thats all I can offer, oh that and the best haunts to drink in in my area (PMSL)

Please please pleeeeaaaasssseeee help

Thanks

Jennifer

Your settings look OK provided you're on contract not prepay, I don't have an M500 nd I'm on Orange so can't check myself but if you're still having problems I'll see if I can check the settings on my mates Exec on O2 but looking at your settings there appears to be nothing wrong!

Presumeably you got your settings from http://www.modaco.com/O2_UK-t200962.html

Hope you get it sorted soon.

Well thanks for your help, I will download that Cab file on Friday when I can get access to my laptop and the net at the same time (IM on works PC right now and we are blocked from downloads lol)

Do I have to put the file anywhere in particular or just in the root directory and run it from there?

Cheers

And @ Confucious thanks for your help as well, I did first get the settings from O2's web site, but then from that post yes. I will try the Cab file on Friday but will post back if I still have problems, thanks for your offer of help by getting the details from your friend it is appreciated, I will let you know!!

As I cant do the CAB download till Friday I just decided to mess about abit so I deleted ALL setting in there and re started from scratch, copying all the info from the link you posted Confucious and although now it seems to connecting (as im not getting the disconnecting from server message) I am getting an internet explorer message saying the page can not be found when I try to get to www.google.co.uk and when I try and get on www.ebay.co.uk it takes about 5 minutes to even start loading the page up, once its loaded up and I click on my ebay, it is saying ''page can not be found'' again. So its 1/2 working and 1/2 not working!!

Any Ideas??
