no tones for SMS

Hi ppl,

I dont know where on the phone, i set the sms tones! Where do i set it?

Copy the files into My Pocket PC \Windows.

Now on the phone go to Start, Settings, Sounds & Notifications and hit the Notifications tab.

Select the 'Event' from the drop-down menu and put a tick in the box.

Now select your file (or a standard option) from the next drop-down menu.

Press OK

Does anyone know a good place to download message alert sounds? I didn't realise you could use sounds other that the 18 (poor ones) that come with it... I've been using them for a year!!!!

Check what files your handset can use first, then make your own!

You can download samples of music from lots of sites, then use something like MP3DirectCut to edit the bit you want, and (if required) convert it to WAV/WMA with something like AllToWMA or Windows Media Player

Yeah, I know what you mean. I have R2D2 as my SMS tone, and Buzz Lightyear for my ringtone.

WavCentral is a good start

Or pick a type of sound/program/movie/toy you like, add "wav", and Google it. EG: futurama wav
