Thanks in advance! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Trade your SP5 in and buy the Dopod 577W. This can display/write English and Chinese simultaneously. The Dopod also has built-in WiFi. There might be some software you could get that would be a cheaper solution tho..........

I got Chinese display by installing Chinese fonts on my Cingular 2125 so it should be possible for SP5 also. No input though. It is similar to procedures for WM2003SE methods, but you have to tweak the registry entries for systemlink and Fontpath. Google "Sunglobe Font for Smartphone". After installing the cab, use a registry editor to fix the keys under: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink HKLM\Software\Microsoft\FontPath So the path references the WM5 paths (no storage prefixes). I did it a while back so can't recall the specific details. Good luck.
Guest m8cca Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 (edited) Thought I will fill in with some more detail since I have gotton a few PM about it. 1. Copy sunglobe.ttf to \Windows on your device. 2. Add: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink String value: "Segoe Condensed" = \Windows\sunglobe.ttf,UniSun HKLM\Software\Microsoft\FontPath String value: "FontPath" = "\Windows" 3. Restart you SP. 4. If you want to view Chinese in PIE, change default encode to "Unicode". You may also load font to \Windows\Fonts directory but if you do, you need to copy segoe.ttf and segoeb.ttf to the same directory which takes up a bit more space. You need to modify the path reference above also. Hope that helps. Edited February 3, 2006 by m8cca
