Guest Fat Freddys Cat Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Hi all - I haven't posted here much, most of the time when I have a question, a search through the archives finds me the perfect answer ;) I would like your opinions now though, since I'm really out of touch with what's going on on the smartphone scene. I got the original SPV 3 years ago, then when I broke that I got a Motorola MPX200 which I have been very pleased with but is getting a bit long in the tooth. It's becoming really slow at doing simple things and the batteries (I have two) are pretty worn out, sometimes I get through both in one day. I guess doing a full reset might speed it up a bit, but I still think it's probably time to think about a new phone. Here's what I would like, ideally. With all your up to date knowledge, I would appreciate your input on if there's something out there for me, or whether I should hold off for a few more months. Or what's the best compromise? 1. Sync with Outlook - I know there are non-smartphone OS phones out there which can do this now - are they any good? 2. While on the subject of other OSs, are the others so good at installing software on - what I really love about smartphone is all the small, independent developers making handy free or cheap apps for us all 3. Regarding computer OS - I now have a Mac, happy for my phone to talk to that instead of my PC 4. Good MP3 player 5. I have invested in many SD cards (not mini SD) - would love to be able to carry on using them 6. Really don't like this thing of taking out the battery to change SD cards 7. I definitely prefer a flip phone, but would consider an alternative. (It's great still having a pristine screen after a year and a half) 8. Decent camera, ideally 2 megapixels 9. The less chunky the better! 10. I have an Orange contract, happy to renew it but would also consider moving if it's worth it I think that about covers it. Thanks in advance, everyone.
