Guest munky^^ Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 (edited) Had a C500, been working fine for ages. Apparently last Saturday (3 days ago) the phone decided to stop receiving incoming calls. When the number is rung the caller hears it ring normally, and it goes to voicemail because it's not answered, as it normally would. Was fixed by just turning the phone off and on again. I found out it had been happening today when I just got an email from a very pi$$ed off customer who needed to get hold of me on the weekend to fix something, and couldn't. I really can't afford for this to happen again, obviously I'll be calling myself for a while to make sure it doesn't happen again, but I'd really appreciate if anyone could suggest what might be going on. Before I restarted the phone I called myself and the phone just sat there normally, didn't do a thing while I could hear it ringing on the phone I was calling on ;) :D :D I didn't notice any problem with outgoing calls. TIA. Edit: Extra debugging info or for anyone else with the same problem: only thing I can think of that I've been doing differently is recently have been screwing around a lot with Jabra BT250 blue tooth headset - trying to get it to work with my laptop, turning BT on and off a lot on the phone, and the headset's been switched between the phone an laptop a lot. Guest mossywell Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Apparently last Saturday (3 days ago) the phone decided to stop receiving incoming calls. When the number is rung the caller hears it ring normally, and it goes to voicemail because it's not answered, as it normally would. That would seem to rule out the network as if it were the network, I'd expect it to go to VM immediately. I've got this recollection that this used to happen to me occasionally. However, it hasn't happened for ages, certainly since the last 2 ROM upgrades. Which version are you running? (FWIW, I'm running 4.2.1.1 and am on Orange.)
Guest Tech Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 have you tried hard resetting the phone after upgrading the ROM? ;)
Guest munky^^ Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 I'm on Orange.. I've got a feeling they released two firmware updates and I didn't do the second one. Yeah, def. phone and not network. My gut feeling is that this won't happen again and was some weird glitch.. I'll try and do the 2nd firmware update and keep my fingers crossed.
