Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 An updated version of Pocket DivX Encoder is now available online, ready to be downloaded. New in this version are the addition of new templates, loads of program improvements, and bug corrections. PocketDivXEncoder allows you to encode any video clip with optimized parameters for handled devices (landscape mode, 240x320, low CPU usage, increased brightness, ...). The video output standards are directly playable on PMP devices (Archos,...) but also on your PocketPC, Smartphone Changelog here: http://divx.ppccool.com/versions.php Homepage: http://divx.ppccool.com/
Guest emyllis Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Just to encourage people, it's a really easy to use program; really straightforward and quick. I managed to do about 10 videos converted from the standard you get from the internet circa 40 megs down to about 6 megs in about 4 minutes a song to convert. Now there is no excuse to not have the videos on your phone that you want!
Guest DomConway Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Have been using this excellent software for a while, and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get movies onto their phone. Very glad that work is still going on with it, nice one!
Guest psionandy Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 How does it compare with the excellent (and free) Fairuse LE?
Guest username132 Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Things that have been bugging me about this program is how you can only selet one movie file at a time (I like to just drag my mouse and make a big ole selection in one go) and that it forgets my settings!! I don't like having to re-enter the same settings each time I run the program... :'(

And I just use the default smartphone settings which seem fine.
Guest username132 Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 I have definitely batch encoded at least four .avi files in one go. And I just use the default smartphone settings which seem fine. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, you can batch process them but you have to click open file, select file, add to list, open file, select file, add to list, open file, select file, add to list, open file, select file, add to list...then process. I just want to drag a large selection and process. The default settings don't use the whole of my phone screen so I don't like 'em...
