Guest Dunx Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 (edited) I'm looking to replace my C500 with either the SP5m or C600. Apart from the fact the SP5m has Wi-Fi and looks a bit different is there any other real advantages to moving to SP5m rather than just upgrading to the C600 from orange. I would also be interested to know if there is any downside to the SP5m over the C600. I think I should be able to get either handset for free, so it's features i'm really looking at. Any advice would be apreciated. :??: Edited January 12, 2006 by Dunx

Guest Griff_FFOC Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 only if you actually have a use for wi-fi it is. The C600 is a nicer phone I think.

Guest shadamehr Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 BOTH sp5 AND sp5m have wi-fi... The sp5 has two extra buttons - they are for contacts and mail. The sp5m (music) has four extra buttons - for music play, rewind and forward, and the internet explorer button. BOTH of them are a better bet than a C600 without wi-fi. @ the user that says "only if you use wi-fi" - well whatever happened to future proofing? Suppose he doesn't use it NOW so gets a C600. Then seven months time (working on the basis he'll have this phone a year), he suddenly goes down the wi-fi route, for a psp, or xbox 360, or an extra PC or whatever reason... All of a sudden, his smart move to get the 'nicer looking (and I don't even agree with that) C600, is not so smart anymore... So don't ask yourself "Do I use wi-fi NOW" - ask yourself if you for any reason at all, MIGHT do so in future. I didn't think I'd use it that much. Yet look at ME now - two wi-fi pc's and a laptop, two wi-fi SP5's, a wi-fi PSP, and a wi-fi Xbox 360. Yet ask me this seven months back and I wouldn't have dreamed of anything but maybe te laptop being on wi-fi...
Guest rsearley Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 I use wi-fi loads, so for me the choice was simple SP5 or SP5M, so i no longer need to carry the bulky PDA2K If it was not for my need of WiFi then i would have gone for the C600, i may still get one as i can upgrade next month from my C500 free of charge, where as i paid £265 for the SP5M Looks wise i prefer my SP5M, but at the end of the day featurer are more important to me one more thing to think about is you are more likely to get rom updates from imate than orange, orange to to avoid updates if possible, i know imate are not great at this, but there was more updates for the SP3 than there was for the C500 either way both are good phones, but is it worth paying the extra ££'s for wifi?? for me yes, for you maybe not BOTH sp5 AND sp5m have wi-fi...
