Guest Bluedevil401 Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 Hey, i recently took my imate to india (from canada) and slapped on a local (BSNL) sim card. the phone worked fine except for mms and gprs. The service provider said he activated my gprs and i noticed a little G symbol on the phone but i couldnt connect to the internet or use mms. My gprs settings in canada were sent to the phone and they worked fine but having probs in india. Was wondering if anyone has tried using their sp3 for gprs in india?
Guest abhayseth Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 Works perfectly well with Airtel - i get suprisingly good speeds on gprs as well. I think this would be a BSNL issue. Guest Zahid Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 I took my C500 with me to Pakistan and used a Ufone sim. My sim had been activated for GPRS (showed the 'G') but the phone did not have the settings for the Ufone network. I tried using Ufone's automated (via SMS) system to update my handset settings but this didn't work. I had to take my phone to a 3 different Ufone shops/centres before someone finally manually created a GPRS data connection with settings that worked. Sounds like you need a GPRS/Data connection creating manually on the phone.
