Hi guys,

I bought a second hand orange spv c500 from the uk (I'm from holland).

the phone is both application locked and simlocked.

I have the means to unlock it, but since I don't have a working uk orange simcard I can't really acces the phone !

So I can't install or execute an application unlocker, or a sim unlocker.

Does anyone have an old orange simcard I could borrow/have ?

No problem if it's not working or connecting anymore, as long as I can use the phone I'm happy !

regards, William

You can buy a Pay as you Go SIM from Orange for £0.50 http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/sim_connection_pack

Is this any use ? If you have problems ordering one I could do it for you and post it to Holland - what's 50p between pals ? ;)

Daniel.

I just tried that, but the terms and conditions state I have to be a uk resident to be able to order online.

If you would be so kind to order one for me that would be great !

Can even refund your costs through paypal if you want ?

I have ordered 2 (one for me too - we get 2 for 1 offers on UCI cinema tickets if you have an orange phone).

They should arrive early next week - not sure if I need to do something once I have them. I will let you know.

(Don't worry about the 50p ;) )

What a guy :-)

Just try to get to the cinema early on a wednesday - it's a NIGHTMARE in york, even after they got a new electronic code checker :D

Activating them over here won't hurt but IIRC you need a balance to enable roaming and unless it's activated over here it will stay dead abroad, but you don't need the sim to be live to get the phone to boot up anyway.

Activate it here and pick the best of the 2 phone numbers they give you for yourself. Bear in mind they'll want a different IMEI to associate with each sim.

No worries - I have stacks of old phones lying about for the IMEI numbers.

They don't need the one it will actually be used with (ie. WJ's number) do they ?

Will I need to register the one I am sending to Holland ?

:D

PS - what car is that in your avatar ? I have narrowed it down to 911, 350Z, S13, or TT ?

Hello,

AFAIK they don't link the IMEI to the account or any such, it's just a box on their screen that needs to be filled before they can progress the registration.

When they arrive they have no mobile number associated. By registering they generate a number for you, so by registering both you get the pick of 2 numbers.

Also, if you don't register 1 of them they will bombard you with emails / texts to other numbers asking you to for the next 3 months. ...

They Know Who You are.... :D

Richard.

p.s it's a 2001 TT 180Q with a big turbo, front and rear aero kit, OZ superleggara wheels and lots of other bits. And it goes well, especially in the snow against lightweight elises (as at the track the piccy was taken)
