T-Mobile Data Charges

i am a little confused as to how i will be charged for using the internet on my SMT 5600.

i have checked my email and went on eBay using internet explorer, but am afraid of what the bill will look like. i have T-Mobile. How do i know when i am actually online? is it when i load a page only? or when both "G's" on my home screen?

will i be charged for text or internet use on Agile Messenger?

Agile messenger uses gprs and you will see a small G with the signal bars, this means you are connected and using data.
