Guest Steev Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 I have customised all my hardware buttons to do the things I want to do but I would like to have one to open the start menu. Then it occurred to me that i never use the left soft key when its set to calender on the today screen. Is there anyway to change this default so that it opens the start menu instead? Cheers S

Cheers S <{POST_SNAPBACK}> unfortunately, the two soft buttons at the bottom cannot be reassigned. i am still looking for a solution, will keep you posted.
Guest mrdo Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 you could try vito buttonmapper - i had a few problems with it to begin with but it now works flawlessly. allows you to remap the softkeys, assigns hardware keys on a per program basis, etc. :-)
Guest daftveggie Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 start menu, settings, soft key lets you rassign them like all the others ;) this only applies as from the home screen and I can't see how to assign the start menu to one.

Cheers S <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Check out the post HERE at xda developers. KJK has posted Start.CAB which remaps the Calendar soft-key to the start menu. I had to reset my k-jam before it would work and as this is added to remove programs it looks like it should be easy to remove as well. Cheers, Chris EDIT: why have my links to xda developers been changed to badlink? Are we no nonger allowed to post links to their website? Seems a bit strange to me..... As i cannot post the link look for a post called "Start button without using Stylus?" in the Wizard forum on the aforementioned site. Edited January 15, 2006 by puckster
