Smartphone on an Apple

Hi there!

My friend is looking to purchase a SmartPhone, specifically the iMate SP5m. The only problem is that her home machine is an Apple iMac, which it seems to me would kind of defeat the purpose of having a SmartPhone (syncing with Outlook).

Is there any way around this? Can SmartPhones indeed sync up with Apple machines, and I'm just unaware of this fact, or is she pretty much SOL? As I said before, if they are incompatible I think it would be more or less be pointless to have a SmartPhone, and I would probably advise her to spend less cash on a "regular" cell phone instead.

Does anyone have any knowledg/input on this matter?

Thanks in advance,

If you're using a Mac, you need to replace using ActiveSync with a product called "The Missing Sync". Pretty sure it's not free (about $40) and make sure it'll work with the version of Apple's OS you've got (they take a little while to make Missing Sync work with newly released OS's.

Provided you can get that software and it works on your machine, you should be laughing all the way to the Nokia owners hangouts! ;)
