Guest freeloader Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Hi I'm having difficulties with the contacts system on Windows Mobile 5.0. I have multiple contacts with the same Home Number but when a call is made from that number, the phone picks one of them (probably by reverse alphebetical order) as the person calling. I've tried setting up an extra contact, just with a plain Home number in it, hoping the contact system will favor that one when someone calls from that number. Anyone got any solutions to this problem? I wish you could just open a popup on that home contact and set it as higher priority.
Guest freeloader Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Since I'm posting, I might aswell also ask when resolution is optimal for a contact photo? (so there's less re-sizing involved).
Guest Confused Stu Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 I know it's little consolation, but the home number picking one name isn't a WM5 thing - it's the same on WM2003SE and (I'm pretty sure) WM2002 for Smartphone too. Guess it's on the "WM6" fixes pile.... ;)

Guest Confucious Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 I believe it shows the first contact it finds with the number so if you want a particular name to be displayed you could use the old DOS trick of renaming with a number in front - it should work (although I've not tried it miself. This is not just a WM thing, it's why most people I know didn't take upthe ICE (in case of Emergency) idea - if you did ICE tended to be displayed when your nearest or dearest rang! HTH
