Hey, I know some people have thought about this and posted this

but why cant windows see a smartphone as a removable drive so we can easily drag and drop our files one the phone using explorer

we know there is software availible for PDAs and Palm Treos (big bulky smartphone  ) but when reading this pocket mac thing today i saw this

12) Desktop Mounting - Every time you insert a memory card into your Smartphone, PocketMac Phone will show those cards on your desktop so that you can access the files on them and copy files to them.

so how comes macs can do this with windows smartphones when windows cant even do it with there own phones??

isnt this a bit strange!

I dont know. I think its microsoft's idea of syncing files and converting and just generally having a laugh.

I have no idea why they couldnt use the same protocols as every other removable drive. I guess they thought theirs was better - which it aint.

oh yeh we can easily do that through my computer but what we really want is to be able to click save in on a program or on the internet and be able to save it directly like being able to save to a memory stick.

there are alot of reasons for this approach - no one does it without a reason.

the smartphone is not exactly a removable disk drive - it is a mobile device - not a removable drive.

just like for example other mobile phones - you dont see them as a removable drive.

Yeah but its still weird though, bought an Windows SMARTphone and then you have to install software to be able to use it with your Windows pc. When i wanted to buy a Windows smartphone ofcourse i thought it was possible to use it as removable drive, cause it sounds so logical.
