trying to open activ sync without device connected

my audiovox 5600 broke and won't turn on. I desperately need to open the activ sync file on my husband's pc but it won't let me. I can see the list of names that I originally loaded there-- but the file won't open to reveal the numbers. This is on my husband's PC. I use a MAC and can't figure this out.
