Guest sink Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 So out of nowhere today, the green "Send" button on my Audiovox 5600 stopped working. Well, it works, but I have to mash on it to get it to do anything. There wasn't any trauma or drops or any other damage. It was working then it stopped. And even when it does work, it seems to be VERY slow to respond. Any ideas how to handle this? It seems likely to be a hardware problem, but seems strange that it came out of nowhere. Help! Jake
Guest nickcornaglia Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 I have had software problems before that resulted in that. Try deleting something that you recently installed. I swear Newsbreak gave me this problem but so far I have been unable to prove that. If you find that to be true, let me know here. Also, memory leaking programs cause some funky stuff like that sometimes. Like older versions of some plugins like SmartMonitor. If you can figure it out with uninstalling software...give it a hard reset. If you still have a problem....I'd say it is hardware. If it goes away after a hard reset, then you definitely have a software issue. Good Luck.
Guest sink Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 Yeah, still no luck. I uninstalled absolutely everything I had installed on the device. No luck. Strangely, I noticed something else. On the home screen, the line across the top of the "Start | Contacts" bar is now double thick. That's right, the Start and Contacts buttons on the screen itself look altered. This is bizarre. Help! Please! I'm begging! Jake I have had software problems before that resulted in that. Try deleting something that you recently installed. Guest jmiller2523 Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Jake, Same problem here. My boss had this phone and his send key quit working. He called the Cingular # and they replaced it with the new model. I'm on the phone with them now (the warranty phone # is 866-636-5806 for Cingular) and trying to have mine replaced for the exact same issue. Hope this helps!
