I had to change my computer domain and userID at work and I copied all settings from the old to the new user. Activesync tells me 'attention required'. And when clicked on 'resolve items' I get the wonderfull message: 'Items of one or more information types cannot be synchronized. Disconnect en reconnect your device. To view all error messages and dialog boxes that require your input, you must connect to this computer via infrared or serial/USB cable'. I get this message when connected via bluetooth and via USB cable. ;) I also found the wcesmgr.log file. Error code: 0x8018000B 2006-01-20 13:13:01 00000684 - **** Synchronization engine started I have tried the following: - remove profile from activesync - reinstall activesync 3.71 and 3.8 several times. - repaired outlook 2003 via help -> detect and repair. - hard reset of the spv c500. Nothing worked. I am at a loss as to what to do now. Has anybody seen this before? Any idea to a solution.
Guest Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 (edited) I was able to restore my windows xp machine by rolling back the system using system restore. I am now back to my previous domainname and computername. This solved the problem. I can now synchronize again. But I need to move to another domain and computername. Can anyone tell me which precautions to take before changing the domain? Sorry, if you were looking for a solution: I do not have it. It looked like my office installation was totally messed up. (could not even change or remove the install). I have reinstalled my machine. Now it is working again. Edited January 25, 2006 by Guest
