Sorry if this has been covered somewhere already ... I searched but couldn't find anything that worked for me.

I'd like to rearrange the start menu on my 8310 (adding folders, moving shortcuts into those folders etc.), but it doesn't let me. I get an error saying "Failed to move xyz.lnk" whenever I try to move a link which has the "system" flag set.

I assumed that this is due to the security settings, so I successfully edited the following registry values:

Then I've changed 00001001 to 1, 00001005 to 40 and 00001017 to 144

Still can't move those shortcuts though.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

My bad, sorry. I should have mentioned that I did exactly what's described in that thread (i.e. changed registry entries, rebooted, used SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe, rebooted). Registry key changes were successful, SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe says "unlocked successfully", but it STILL doesn't let me move those shortcuts ... :x

May be this is not what you are looking for but Jeyo Personalizer let you atleast re-arrange the start menu and it's free, you can download at:

http://www.jeyo.com/personalizer.asp

or you can use tweaks2k2 program to acheive the same.

Thanks, already tried that too, but simply reordering the menu is not what I'm looking for.

Same case with the XphoneIIm. If the 8310 comes with a file explorer, you can try moving the shortcuts using the built-in file explorer program and not via ActiveSync or other 3rd party applications.

Sad. I'm sorry I can't help much. ;)

We will have to wait for help from other 8310 owners who have been thru same situation.
