Guest ungawa Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 I know the topic has been covered in the past with changing Opera to the default browser (solved in the new beta), but nothing resolved about the opposite. My problem is that I installed Opera (erroneously) & set it as my default browser, and now having removed it from my phone (SP5), I cannot get links from other apps to load in iexplorer. Sussing out Smart Explorer / managing file types - the default app to open html files etc is still set to Opera. When I try to change them to open with "iexporer" I can't find any icons (required) to attach to them .. Sorry about this - I feel I am clutching at straws and that it is a lost cause : a factory reset will be required. There just doesn't seem to be an option in iexplorer to reset it as the default. Any help would be most appreciated. - brent
Guest killerost Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 I had the same problem, Opera was my default browser for HTM files. Luckily IE was still default for HTML :) I exported this from the registry and edited it to correct my HTM problem, I don't guarantee anything, but hopefully it'll solve your problem too :D <-- do not include this line --> Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmfile] "EditFlags"=dword:00010000 @="HTM Document" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmfile\0407] @="HTM-Dokument" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmfile\Shell] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmfile\Shell\Open] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmfile\Shell\Open\Command] @="iexplore.exe file:%1" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmfile\DefaultIcon] @="browsres.dll,-6703" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile] "EditFlags"=dword:00010000 @="HTML Document" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\0407] @="HTML-Dokument" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\Shell] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\Shell\Open] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\Shell\Open\Command] @="iexplore.exe file:%1" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\DefaultIcon] @="browsres.dll,-6703" <-- do not include this line --> Save as a .REG file and import on your phone.
