Guest mattaylwin Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 hi! is there any way of displaying the c550 on a tv? if so, how!! thanks
Guest mini_man Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 Although the orange website quotes A fantastic Music device with dedicated music buttons and a 512 Meg storage card, that can hold 500+ music tracks. You can even plug the C550 into your stereo or TV! it is unfortunatley not possible as many have tried including me with different av cables.
Guest mini_man Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 huh its stated, and obviously suggested??? were tlkin about tv output, so what do you think the av/tv cables do??? tv output ------> output too tv
Guest mini_man Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 im sorry to sound angry but im tired and am wrapped up in coursework but are you serious!!! did you even read the topic it is unfortunatley not possible as many have tried including me with different av cablesit is unfortunatley not possible as many have tried including me with different av cables it is unfortunatley not possible as many have tried including me with different av cablesit is unfortunatley not possible as many have tried including me with different av cables
Guest jrdas Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 its ok but what are these cables made for.. what do u do with them and how...
Guest mini_man Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 they are designed for tv output from many types of devices with different sockets. like one of these I primarily use them for outputting my video camera onto the tv or recording from the tv to the camera, although i have a few with different lines on the jack. nd tried pluggng them into the phone with an adaptor and into the tv does nothing. apart from makes noises from the video playing.
Guest jrdas Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 so do i plug the wires into the tv and c550 and then go to my video camera and press record?
Guest mini_man Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 (edited) woh woh, wot are u tlking about, you dont seem to ask questions are you asking me how to get your CAM CORDER to record of the tv edit sorry may be i wasnt clear enough, by camera im referring to my cam corder ill put a full stop on this, 1.) you cannot view your phone on the tv 2.) you cannot view tv on ure phone an record it end of story, u asked me wot the cables are for so im tellin u wot they can be used for Edited January 24, 2006 by mini_man
Guest Tech Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 i dont believe you can output to the TV someone will sue orange, most likely me, for providing false information - it is against the consumer act if it says you can output from C550 (which i dont think it will be possible) then that means the C500 should be able to, and so should the C600 and the imate etc.... C550 does not have an svideo socket - svideo is an output video connection. orange will do anything to sell their stuff
Guest mini_man Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 too rite im tempted to give them an angry phone call, as i did ask the women on the phone when i was purchasing it if this were possible and she replied yes i think does meen that. Although tech do bare inmind that i could easily be imbedded in the 2.5mm jack as you may no that alot of video cameras use 3.5mm jacks. But you are right it is soooo unlikely, i shall ring them up later and see what they have to say
Guest fluffcat1 Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 I plugged my c550 into a TV's av audio inputs at someones party last night, the sound came through perfectly. Where does it say on orange's website that you will get *video* output to a TV? It's just a convenient hookup for people in situations where there is no stereo available eg a hotel with a TV.... Many years ago I used to make 4 hour mix tapes onto VHS to play at parties - as they would last longer than a conventional audio cassette, and connect the video either to a stereo or just play it through a TV. Saved having to turn tapes over :-) I think a little perspective is needed here - it does connect to the TV, but only the audio, so in that respect it does exactly what the website states in the context of the phrase "You can even plug the C550 into your stereo or TV! " and as it doesn't explicitly mention video playback I doubt you'd get far sueing orange, but you may well get them to change the description somewhat. Richard
Guest Tech Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 indeed well this means that you can also plug any pocket PC/SPV to your stereo TV
Guest fluffcat1 Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 indeed well this means that you can also plug any pocket PC/SPV to your stereo TV Only if it comes with a 2.5mm -> 2 rca cable :D I'd always had to use an adaptor and a 3.5mm cable before the c550 music pack. ;) Richard
