Guest draquilla Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Today I tried to install some programs on my Imate SP5 phone. I tried to install Skype and I tried to install SOTI Pocket Controller. Since I tried to install these programs, I'm unable to changes things in my settings menu. For example; When I try to change my homescreen or my profile, I get the following message: "Error; The settings can not be opened." So I get this message at all the submenus off the settingsmenu. (profilesmenu, timemenu etc...) Does anybody knows what I can do to provoke this and how the restore this? I'm affraid that I have to do a hard reset, but I will wait first with doing a hard reset. Maybe somebody can help me with my problem. Does anybody had the same problem before and does anyone know a solution??? (When I was installing SOTI Pocket Controller, I got an install error when it was installing the cab-file on the phone. Maybe it has something to do with that.)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Try uninstalling the apps and see if it helps. By the sounds of it an error has occured in the registry and the only solution may well be to do a Hard Reset.

I also can not come in the submenu "uninstall programs". I already deleted Skype via the File explorer, but SOTI wasn't finished installing at all. I'm affraid it had something to do with some wrong setting in the registry, but I didn't thouch a thing in the registry, so... Any other suggestions?
Guest draquilla Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Ok.. I eventually did a hard reset ( :D ). Unfortunally, I lost all my stuff and unfortunally I now don't know what the cause of my problem was. But the good news is, that it now works properly again! ;) . Good tip for the future: Backup your stuff once a week or something  .
