Display timeout question

Is there anyway on the c550 to set it so the display backlight turns off at an interval but you can still see the homescreen like on the c500. When i set the c550 just to turn off the backlight you cant see anything?

It's not possible because of the way the C550 has been designed. If you look very closely under bright light, you'll see that the screen is actually still there but unreadable because its too dark. There's a thread about this earlier on in the forum.
