Hello,

I am trying to install the Good email application on my SPV. However, it will only install on the main memory and I dont seem to have enough of it.

What do I need to do to seriously free up memory (~5MB) on the SPV. The only application installed on the SPV is the Good OTASetup application. The phone is as it arrived from Orange.

TIA

Welcome to the forum ;)

That seems like a remarkably low memory reading. Is that the reading after a reboot ?

You don't have loads of ringtones and skins on there ?

Have you deleted all your read messages ?

Other than that you can delete all the pictures, templates and standard sound files located in My Documents. That will clear up some memory.

... and try to use the card for future installations as the memory on C600 is rather poor ... :D

Unfortunetly Good Mail will only install on to the main memory. The phone is fresh out of the box so I have not tried to install anything else.

Yes, I tried to insall the app soon after a "hard reset". Good Mail needs around 12MB to install and I only have 8MB free. So I need to try and scrounge up another 4MB :D

Will try "backing up" as much as possible from the My Docs folder and see what happenes.

Well, I did another hard re-set and am still short of memory (by ~2MB now). I tried to delete the pictures and music files that are in the My Doc folder but they are all system files and am not able to delete them. Is there a way around this?

I also read that the US version of this phone has an update that will free up enough info to allow the installation of GoodLink. However that update will not install on my phone as its not got the same id as the US phone. Is there a way around that?

TIA
