See the related thread about my wireless internet not working

My PC has AS 4.1 installed, it says that the USB is availible but still won't find the phone.

When I plug the phone in, it says something about a RNDC device and then recognises it as a windows phone. Still doesn't work though...

Any hints/tips/ideas?

Please don't cross post.

Yes, actually, it seems your TCP/IP networking is screwed, which is used by your wireless network, AND ActiveSync.

Therefore, a problem with it would break both.

I have also upgraded to 4.1 and when I plug the phone in it mentioned a RNDIS device and lists a SPV_C600 in Activsync but doesnt connect. I have totally turned my firewall off and the problems still exist!

I am gutted I cannot connect to my pc to install software on this device!

Looking on similar thread it seems a lot of people are having problems connecting!

The whole AS thing is very strange..

just recently AS stopped working on my laptop, when i connect the phone it is detected, and AS pops up saying 'connecting' and goes no further so the laptop see the phone AS see the phone.. if i connect my C500 or pda2k, it works perfectly ok..

so, you would think it was the phone at fault... but its not, because if i connect the phone to the desktop pc, it connects and syncs properly

so where is the problem??

I've just bought an I-Mate SP5 phone and am having the same problem. The computer and phone won't connect even though I've installed and uninstalled Activesync 1.4 several times. I just get the error message "The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software" something called "Generic RNDIS" is missing and can't be found. Have you had any luck since your last message?

After upgrading to AS 4.1 I can now use AS but only when the firewall is totally turned off! I have attempted to follow the instructions at Microsoft to get around this problem but I can only do about 75% of the instructions!

OH well i'm sure someone will sort it all out soon!

Here is your solution.

I had the same problem. I had Microsoft Active Sync 3.8 installed on my computer.

Then I Installed the 4.0 version of the program without uninstalling the first one.

... and then the 4.1 version. This a sure way to make your computer not to be able to connect to your Smartphone.

Solution:

Uninstall all previous versions of Microsoft ActiveSync and then install the version 4.1 and RESTART the computer when the program asks you to.

And that's it your sync should work now.. hopefully.

greetings
