How to stop GPRS disconnecting on ActiveSynch-ing

So, I'm pretty new to smartphones, but am keen to learn....

Within the first week of having it, I've already hacked my registry to sort out the 'GPRS turns off on pressing the red END key'.

I now want to find out if it's possible to stop GPRS disconnecting when I plug my phone into my PC to synchronise. I use MSN messenger & IM+ on my phone and want to keep GPRS connected all the time if possible. I have to connect/disconnect it from my PC regularly at the office to synch with Outlook and everytime I do, it drops my GPRS. It gets annoying after about the 20th time each day....

I thought maybe I've just got my settings wrong or something, as I guess my phone tries to reconnect to the internet via my PC or something when i plug it in??

Can anyone help or advise?
