Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Am thankful of the power failure I noticed this new find. Blog entry ;) By default, the non-QVGA device (like the C500) have 9 Start Menu entries. Entries 1 to 8 are program shortcuts (LNKs) and number 9 as the ‘More’ key allowing you to open the next page. The QVGA Smartphone (ei C550) on the other hand have 10 Start Menu entries. 1 to 9 are program links, 0 being the ‘More’ key. Can we have the ‘More’ key mapped to keypad 1? Sure we can! Check the screenshot. The tweak will: 1. Map ‘More’ key to 1 instead of the usual 0 or 9. 2. Disable the number shortcuts of Start Menu. Keys * and # will still work to turn pages. Target device: C500, C550 (not yet tried on other phone models) I made an easy-to-use setup wizard and you can grab it here: ListUI.zip To install: Download, extract content then read instructions carefully. The EXE inside the ZIP archive should be launched on the PC while phone is sync’d. Note that number shortcuts on other windows will also be disabled (Quicklist, Settings etc)
Guest nickcornaglia Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 I see what it does...but why would I want to do it? (respectfully). ;) Is this just to get rid of the numbers? Or is it for people who dont want to move their thumb aaaaalllllllll the way down to the zero button for MORE?
