Guest mike-oh Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 (edited) Hello all, I'm having issues since i did a hard reset and upgraded to the latest T-mobile ROM. Once i've made a GPRS connection and later hung up i can no-longer reconnect. I have to do a soft reset before i can connect again....very annoying! Can anyone help? Cheers Mike PS: It's an MDA Compact. Edited February 1, 2006 by mike-oh
Guest mike-oh Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Ahhhh come on you guys! Throw me a bone here!!
Guest exosceleton Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 (edited) i have the same problem, just like you after a hard reset (and still there after the second hard reset) turning flightmode on and off will allso allow you to connect (once) ps. m500 on orange network here Edited March 13, 2006 by exosceleton
Guest mike-oh Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 I phoned t-mobile customer services, they suggested removeing the battery and putting in back in. Reluctantly i tried, thinking that was a lameass suggestion. Amazingly enough it worked! Apparently the phone and the network occasionally need a little time apart....a bit like a squabling couple! Hope that helps.

But i will try it. thanks exo

Guest exosceleton Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 let us know how you get on! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> well, the story has been made more complicated here by a change in my subscription (i'm not sure this is the correct english word i mean the dutch "abonnement") status. This involved many changes (on-off-on off) to my "orange world active" setting on the orange network (at the provider level i mean). It allso involved having to change my sim card, and therefor removing the battery. So everything is different, except for the settings in my phone (and my tel.number). The good news is that i can now connect normally, without resetting the connection. It is entirely possible that the battery removal did the trick, but i cannot really confirm this. p.s. switching subscriptions is a pain! every thing went as it should, no mistakes were made by orange, and i am happy with the end result. But i wonder how people do it that are not as provicient with phones as "we" are. p.s.s TIP from me: save your PUK code somewhere safe, but REMEMBER where you put it. (learned that the hard way, you should see my room after i had found it)

Had a similar experience looking for something recently. Funny how quickly you can make of mess of things when you’re looking in a hurry. Too funny!
Guest Fleabag Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 You'd be surprised how many handset/network issues are solved by removing and replacing the battery! ;)
