You cant use the handset because the sound comes out of the Speakerphone which creates an echo. Also, bluetooth headeset works but not straightforward. You need to activate bluetunes found on Modaco here and youre in business!! Like I said call quality is Excellent for me. It is also missing an address book on the smartphone version and youre phone number will be either from Sweden, Norway, and one other which sucks. But this is a must have program!

Guest Eminos Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 (edited) On my Qtek 8310 I get the following error msg when trying to launch the program: "This application (SmartphoneWoizeCF2.exe) requires a newer version of the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework then the version installed on this device." And then I have to quit the program ... :D [EDIT] Ooh, there was a link for that too, on that page .. hihi ;) /E Edited January 26, 2006 by Eminos

Now I have to get another account somewhere, convince my friends to start using it in order to make free calls.. no thanks. What we really need is a Smartphone SIP client that is fully configurable, that supports STUN and that we can use with any SIP registrar server we please.. The Cicero VOIP client seems to be a genuine step in the right direction (look HERE) but unfortunately we can't buy it anywhere just yet ;)

I'm awaiting my license as we speak. The biggest benefot of it is as you say, you can use any VoIP provider out there AND its especially written for the SP5/8310 and integrates completely with the dialer ;) Although i would say, they're targeting operators at the moment, so they may not offer to sell it to you unless you approach them through your company. I use it for work so they were more than happy to give me a license so i can advertise it to my clients heheh
Guest MitchellO Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 I doubt this will threaten skype. Skype will eventually bring out a voice-enabled smartphone version. They'd be silly not to.
Guest CAVADIAS Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 Could skype be included in a firmware upgrade?

Guest MitchellO Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 Possible considering that the KJAM originally included it, but doubtful. You will probably have to download and install it yourself. With a program like that its probably best as you can update it without having it twice.
Guest Looby Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 I have downloaded the .NET Compact Framework 2.0 from Microsoft which also is designed to update the Smartphone at the same time which it does. I chose to install it on the card storage and it was successful. The only problem is that the internal memory has now dropped to 2.3mb from 6.3mb which will stop the MMS from working properly. I removed it from My Programmes but the memory has only risen to 3.4mb. I think I can feel a Hard Reset coming on at sometime. :)
Guest Eminos Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Yes, same here :) .. and now my phone is warning me about "low diskspace" all the time :D /Eminos
Guest Northernmost Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 There a brief bit about installing (and why it eats your main storage) the CF 2.0 to storage in the .NET Compact Framework Blog. Just scroll down about a fifth of the page to "Installing NETCF V2 to storage card". In a nut shell - you can install it to storage but, due to storage card issues, it copies all the files to main storage anyway :|
Guest Looby Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Many thanks Northernmost, at least we now know what is going on. I have removed all the games ( left the antivirus ) from the i-mate SP5 and this has brought the memory back up to 5.8mb. so it will now utilise the MMS without a hard reset. :|
Guest LarsDK Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 I have the same problem.. I only have 3.4MB and have allready removed all that I can. Has anyone any ideas what to remove? Why oh why isnt there a SIP-client out there... I cant remember when a program as awaited as this had to be that long in the process. Woize sounds promissing, however, I would prefer to be able to use my current IP-phone provider.
Guest mwille Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 Hmmm, just read this on Msmobiles.com : Woize is not SIP based, it is indeed SIP compatible, but that is enabled by the system handling this via different gateways. I.e. it is not the Woize client that is SIP based. Not really SIP after al.. not that that matters :)

Guest LarsDK Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 Yes they go to the storage card... the folder is empty. Maybe a hard reset is the solution to the problem. I have just looked at a phone that was reset a few days ago and it had 11.5MB free. Mine is still branded, but a hard reset should remove the branding. Then I just need the right SIP-client... come on guys! Who wants to earn the money? I dont get cicero, why will they not sell it to us private consumers?
