Guest orangezorki Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Hello, I'm a newbie here, and also to the world or PPC, but I just couldn't resist the MDA Vario and love it, despite the Microsoft software which seems to be an equal mix of inspiration and catastrophe. Anyhow, Im trying to work out a few things, and hopefully asking about them could also help others in my situation, so here goes: 1. The device gets much slower when the mail app is running - is this normal, or does it have something to do with me having quite a large inbox? If it's normal, is there a more elegant way of getting it (and other processor hogs) to quit without going into Settings:Memory? 2. I have noticed that the "End Call" button is really useful for going back to the home screen, but the device always makes a beep even if I have muted all device and phone sound - how can I remove this, because it will be a big problem in situations when it needs to be silent? 3. With my mac, I can browse my Sony Ericsson phone via bluetooth to download pics etc, but this does not want to work with the MDA, saying "service not supported" on the computer - is this not possible? Thanks in advance for any advice, David.
Guest orangezorki Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 OK - No suggestions at all? I did, after a long time searching, find out that I could stop the hangup beep by changing the keypad settings, which if you ask me should be a subset of the overall device settings. Anyhow, I also wondered if there was a way to change the application that is launched when I press the top right Tmobile button. Even though I have changed my PIE homepage, it still takes me to the Tmobile portal page. Any ideas greatly appreciated... David.
Guest mrw1004 Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Hi, I have changed the T mobile button so it takes me to the desktop, but you can change any of the buttons:- click on START --> SETTINGS Find the Power Buttons application and run this, look for the internet explore E sign, I changed the Tap version of this by selecting it the in the lower assign dialog pick the action you want. You asked about stopping and seeing running programs without having to go into system memory, 3rd party apps cover this sort of thing very well and allow you to seeby one touch all apps running and task management from the Today screen, I use Batterpack pro but there are others have a look at Handango. all the best, mw OK - No suggestions at all?
