Guest Harp Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 Ok, I've searched through these forums and although many other people seem to have a similar problem, non of the fixes seem to work for me. The problem in detail is this: I have just upgraded to a C600 from a C500. I used to use Activesync 3.8 succesfully to update my contacts with Outlook. I have now installed AS 4.1 and have noticed that the connection to the computer is now through a LAN/Network Connection (I don't know the proper technical term). The C600 is recognised by the PC. It says it is connected and ready to use and an icon appears in the system tray (by the clock) to show that it is connected, but AS does not recognise it at all!!! If I try to connect from within AS using the 'Connect' button in 'File/Connection Settings...', I get up the connection wizard but it can't find the phone even though it says that USB is working fine. I presume the problem is, like some other users, that I use AOL. AOL also now uses a LAN/Network Connection to talk to the broadband modem so I presume that there's a conflict somewhere. I've tried uninstalling AS and have made sure not to connect the phone until AS was installed again, but to no avail. If anyone can make sense of this please reply so that I can start using my new phone properly!
Guest roma0803 Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 Have you checked Microsoft's Troubleshooting Guide? A lot of these problems are related to firewalls.
