When watching a video in fullscreen mode on WMP10, it shifts to landscape, but doesn't resize the video. I've selected the 'resize video' option in the settings screen. A hugh waste of screen real estate and it's hard to watch a video the size of a postage stamp.

:??: Any way to get the video larger in fullscreen?

Yep - forget WMP 10 and use TCPMP instead.

I use pocketdivxencoder to re-code movies to 320x240 resolution and they work in fullscreen perfectly.

Have a search for TCPMP and divxencoder on here - it's all free :)

Thanks -- I have TCPMP and have found that it does fullscreen well. Doesn't seem to work with the DRM stuff though, and www.smartvideo.com appears to be Windows Media Player oriented. The average user will probably not want to seek out an alternate player to get fullscreen -- too bad it's not possible in WMP10

For the C500 there was a registry change that fixed that. But on my Qtek 8300 I have searched and searched but cant find the registry change on WM5.

Someone has finally found a solution to the fullscreen problem in wmp10 on wm5!!

Thanks to Andy over at spv-developers.com, I got it working on my qtek 8300.

http://www.spv-developers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=338

The solution is in the registry key at:

[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WMDM]

which has a value WMDMCapabilities which points to the file:

\Windows\WMSyncCaps.xml

Download the WMSyncCaps.xml file to your system (I e-mailed it to myself from the phone, since for some reason activesync wouldn't transfer it properly), rename the file (to WMSyncCaps2.xml for instance)

Then open the file in notepad and change all the 'height' values to 240, and all the 'width' values to 320.

(so every instance of either 120 or 176 needs to be changed into 240, and every instance of 160 or 220 needs to be changed into 320).

Now save the file and move it back to \Windows\WMSyncCaps2.xml on your phone.

Change the registry key WMDMCapabilities so it links to WMSyncCaps2.xml

Now: find and delete the WMPInfo.xml from your storage card (back it up first.. just in case), disconnect and reboot the phone.

Then on your desktop pc, start wmp10 > tools menu > options > devices tab > advanced > click on the 'delete files' button.

When your phone is rebooted, connect it to your pc and try to sync a video to your phone. It should now display in fullscreen, and have a 320x240 resolution!

Good luck! And tnx to Andy for finding the solution!!
