Help, which headsets are compatible with spvs?

Hi guys.

I always have the same problem: my headset cables break.

I have gone through 5 headsets for my spv and spv e200.

Now I have the i-mate sp5m and after only a few weeks the

cable broke again, close to the plug.

Luckily I still had an old spv headset, which had the same plug

and worked, UNTIL it broke today, too.

There is no way to get an original sp5m headset yet anywhere.

I have found more spv headsets on ebay, but their quality is

actually worse than the sp5m's original was.

Does anyone know of any good compatible spv/i-mate headsets

which are fully functional (good sound, microphone working, etc.)?

I found the following two 2,5mm plug headsets on ebay, but as

one is for motorola and the other one is for SOME pdas, I am not sure:

On the second one the plug looks too short, although I found other

pictures of XDA-1 headsets which looked EXACTLY like my spv ones

(including the plug length)

The Motorola one looks ok and is cheap (Don't know about the

sound quality of course). So does anyone have a motorola AND

an spv or i-mate, and can you try switching the headsets?

hmm strange i though any of them worked.

why not just get a bluetooth headset,

i popped along to argos bought cheapest one there

Argos

(psst its actually £17 in the shops) and it worked perfectly the quality of talking and hearing is gr8 (sucks for music) i recommend it and all the buttons are compatible

well i assumed that any 2.5mm headset with a mic and speaker just works, have you considered using your normal headphone or earphones and buying a 3.5mm to 2.5mm with a built in mic

Hm, looks nice, but the pin has only 2 rings, whereas my original headset has 3 black rings on the pin.

Might be different connections...

its worth a shot for a few quid though isnt it? i think i may get one as its quite annoying when im listening to music while going somewhere to recieve a phone call

as i have to unplug everything.
